Evangelist Oral Roberts‘ memorial service was opened to the public at the Oral Roberts University Mabee Center on Monday, Dec. 21st. Roberts died last Tuesday at the age of 91, at his home in Newport Beach, California, with complications of pneumonia. Oral Roberts was the founder of the Oral Roberts Evangelistic Association and Oral Roberts University (ORU). Photo Slideshow below.
Pat Robertson Opens in Prayer for Oral Roberts Memorial
The service opened with a prayer by Pat Robertson, founder of the Christian Broadcasting Network. Robertson described Oral Roberts as a man who walked with God but never gave up the common touch.
Tulsa World reports that “Spontaneous hand-clapping broke out during a video that told the Oral Roberts story, sprinkled with tributes from Jerry Lewis, Roy Clark, Coach Eddie Sutton, Jimmy Carter, President George H.W. Bush and other notable people from the world of entertainment, politics and sports.” (more…)

It appears that Cincinnati Bengals wide receiver Chris Henry was seriously injured in a car accident in North Carolina and some are reporting that he has died from the injuries.
Tweet from Dallas Morning News sports reporter @Biodome10 “#bengals Just spoke to the Bengals’ Jack Brennan, he’s confirmed that the accident was fatal. Waiting for Henry’s family to be notified”
Jack Brennan is the head of PR for the Bengals.
Whether this is a real Twitter account, I don’t know. We’ve seen in the past that there are far too many rumors on the Internet these days so I’m not going to say this is CONFIRMED until I hear otherwise. (more…)

Boeing’s troubled 787 Dreamliner project has finally got off the ground today with the first 787 flight.
The 787 first flight video shows the innovative composite materials plane taking off in fine Seattle weather: overcast skies and showers. The first flight was uneventful with the aircraft operating as expected, be it two years late for its first flight. (more…)
