After enduring a harrowing recovery from being critically injured in a jet ski crash on May 29, Sean Kingston was all smiles at the 2011 Teen Choice Awards in Universal City on Sunday.
Kingston, 21, stepped out on the Gibson Amphitheatre’s red carpet for his first public appearance since the incident, clad in a bright red vest, white T-shirt, jeans, and gold jewelry.
The Jamaican-American singer recently opened up to MTV about his near-fatal accident, which occurred over Memorial Day weekend when the watercraft he was driving crashed under a small bridge, injuring him and his passenger.
“A lot of people don’t know it was a deeper situation,” the “Beautiful Girls” singer said. “I had open heart surgery and I had two other surgeries.”
Doctors had to operate on Kingston multiple times when they discovered that his aorta was torn and blood was filling his chest. But the star, who in addition suffered a broken jaw, fractured wrist, and water in his lungs, made a miraculous full recovery. “I’m 100 percent right now,” he said. “What the accident basically taught me is, in life, you have to count your blessings.”

The provocative pose might seem like nothing unusual for a Vogue fashion shoot – except that Miss Blondeau is just ten years old.
Now the shocking images of the French child model have brought condemnation from parents’ groups and MPs.

Reality television stars Heidi Montag and Spencer Pratt say there is such a thing as being too famous.
Five years after hitting it big on MTV’s The Hills, the couple says they’re broke, disillusioned with reality TV and for Montag, over plastic surgeries.
Montag told the Daily Beast, “Obviously I wish I didn’t do it. I would go back and not have any surgery. It doesn’t help. I got too caught up in Hollywood, being so into myself and my image.”
The Hollywood vortex sucked them up good, according to their accounts. They blew through money for Montag’s music career and to look the part of Tinseltown stars. Pratt says he “probably spent a million dollars on suits and fancy clothes. My million-dollar wardrobe — I would never wear that again. They’re props.”
They now refer to themselves as “broke” and are living in a beach house in Santa Barbara because Pratt’s parents don’t charge them rent.
As for the reality TV game, Pratt is particularly disillusioned about making up a “fake” life for the cameras and seeking fame: “We were living each other’s mistakes — everything we were doing, in retrospect, was a mistake. The second we continued on our quest for fame was a mistake. (more…)
