Alexa Ray Joel “Feeling Much Better” After Overdose

After being hospitalized for an apparent suicide attempt, Billy Joel’s daughter Alexa Ray Joel is “feeling much better” from overdose, her publicist told People.
The 23-year-old singer was rushed to the St. Vincent’s Hospital after what authorities said seemed to be an intentional overdose on Saturday. According to the Post, Joel dialed 911 herself after taking eight tablets of Traumeel — an herbal alternative to ibuprofen that was incapable of killing her. She apparently told the 911 dispatcher: “Took pills. Want to die.” A dispatcher then sent medics to her West Village apartment with this message: “Female caller. Took eight pills. Wants to die. Now feels funny. Wants to live.” (more…)
