Harlem Globetrotter Gives Preview Of Sunday's Charity Event

Shreveport-Bossier Mayors, community officials and Harlem Globetrotter Flight Time Lang took part in a 4-Point shot for Charity today at the Gold Dome, located on the Centenary College campus on Kings Highway.

Herb “Flight Time,” Lang helped those taking part in the event. Lang joined the Harlem Globetrotters 12 years ago after graduating from Centenary College and winning the 1998 National Association of Basketball Coaches (NABC) Slam Dunk Contest his senior season.

The 4-point shot is the Globetrotters newest innovation to the game of basketball. The shot will be attempted at a range of 35 feet from the basket-12 feet beyond the NBA’s official 3-point line. The event is in recognition of the Globetrotters commitment to community and their upcoming game, Sunday, April 17, at CenturyTel Center at Bossier City.

The Globetrotters will donate 50 tickets to the Providence House in Shreveport and 40 tickets to the City of Shreveport’s Mentoring Initiative to Sunday’s game against the infamous Washington Generals. Each organization will receive the tickets regardless of how successful the participants are at making the shot.
