Reebok’s EasyTone sneakers work

A few weeks back, my favorite celebrity trainer Valerie Waters sent me a box with Reebok Easy Tone sneakers. These sneakers were very flashy at first. Silver and lilac, I wondered how long these would last in my closet.
When I first put them on I was pleasantly surprised by the comfort of the schnazzy sneaks. They were straight outta the box comfortable as heck!
Reebok says that the shoes activate your lower body muscles when you walk creating natural instability which in turn tones your legs. A study from the University of Delaware said that the shoes increased muscle activity in the glutes by 28%, the hamstrings by 11% and the calves by 11%.
How do they do this? Well there are two strategically placed balance pods on the bottoms of the shoe, one under the ball of your foot and the other underneath your heal. It feels almost like two mini bosu balls underneath your foot. It’s seriously wicked comfy!
In regards to how much I feel the shoes give me an “unplanned workout,” I’m still on the fence. When I go up stairs, I do notice that I’m more tired when I reach the top however when I’m just walking, I don’t notice the burn. This does not mean they are not working, I just don’t notice it. These shoes are perfect for commuting to work (and bringing the heels), walking to dog or shopping with friends if you are wearing clothes that make the shoes not stand out so much. I probably wouldn’t shop in them if I was wearing shorts. They are that silly looking. I call mine, my silver bullets.
Regardless I give the shoes my blessing. They do cost $110 but are great if you need a new pair of walking shoes.
