Rodney King Arrested On Suspicion Of Misdemeanor DUI

Rodney G. King, the guy whose videotaped beating by police in 1991 and subsequent acquittals sparked the 1992 La riots, was arrested on suspicion of misdemeanor driving while impaired Tuesday in Moreno Valley, Riverside County sheriff’s authorities stated.
King, 46, is at a 1994 Mitsubishi when he was stopped by Moreno Valley police a couple of:30 p.m. on Ernest Avenue, north of Brabham Drive, Sgt. David Knudsen from the sheriff’s department stated inside a statement.
King commited several unspecified traffic violations before he was stopped, based on Knudsen.
“The motive force was recognized as Rodney Glenn King of Rialto, California,” Knudsen’s statement stated.
An initial evaluation indicated the motive force was possibly driving drunk, Knudsen stated.
King was come to the Moreno Valley Police Department for any further evaluation, then reserved at Robert Presley Detention Center in Riverside soon after 6 p.m.
King’s bail Tuesday evening was $2,500, based on inmate records.
King continues to be arrested before on suspicion of driving while impaired of alcohol or drugs. He’s also made an appearance on reality-based programs including “Celebrity Rehab” and “Sober House.”
