UCLA Stabbing Scandal
October 9th, 2009 | by |UCLA stabbing male student slits the throat of a female student. A student enrolled in an undergraduate course at UCLA was stabbed by a fellow student who tried to slit her throat. The student has been admitted to hospital with severe neck injuries.
A report from UCLA says, “A UCLA undergraduate is being treated at Ronald Reagan UCLA Medical Center for multiple stab wounds. A male student, also an undergraduate, is in custody as a suspect”.
“UCLA police received a call of a stabbing in a teaching lab on the sixth floor of Young Hall about 12:20 p.m. on Thursday. Officers responded and a suspect was taken into custody nearby” it further says.
The UCLA media relations office adds, “UCLA PD has requested assistance from the Los Angeles Police Department due to the large number of potential witnesses to be interviewed, Assistant Police Chief Jeff Young said at an afternoon news conference. More than 30 students may have information, he said”.
Names of the victim and suspected assailant, both of them 20-year-old seniors, have not been released.
